Removal of @wbayercom
[edit]{{Edit request}} I request the removal of:
{{qfiwbayer.com|wbayercom|76319087@N08|4=Flickrwashing by {{user|Hipposcrashed}}}}
Comment: Unlike other flickrwashing users, Hipposcrashed was never banned and left Commons many years ago in 2017
- More Important, the wbayer flickr account OR wbayercom flickr photostream has 15,000 images and maybe half of the images are licensed freely. All their flickr albums are own work and this is a PRO flickr account. I have checked through the images and they all appear to be own work and the account owner writes in French though they are German (Heidi and Werner Bayer from their Geneva, Switzerland website.)
I noticed these 2 images below on the bad author's list
- Also their 2023 Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (capital of Malaysia) photos--I was born in Malaysia--and 2024 Singapore photos are almost certainly own work with no flickrwashing at all. To all intents and purposes, this appears to be a real legitimate flickr account with their own internet website. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:54, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- I
Support removal. Some photos may not be eligible for Commons because of FOP etc. but unless Flickr user is known to upload many photos taken by someone else and license them freely then I do not think it is enough for a ban. --MGA73 (talk) 10:20, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- I was summoned here by Leoboudv. Because of that, I'd prefer not to be the one to action this request. But if the images look good, no objection from me. —Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 03:17, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- I will remove because no reason not to do so was brought forward. --MGA73 (talk) 17:34, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

Removal of kurmanphotos
[edit]{{Edit request}} I request the removal of: {{qfi|kurmanstaff|kurmanphotos}}
Comment: Was there a good reason why Kurman Communications was placed on the blacklist? It has 25,500+ images and is a Company account with images of food, people, Chicago, visits to Italy etc for a wedding like this photo. Most of the cameras images come from a Nikon D7000 camera, Sony ILCE-7SM3 or Sony DSC-RX100M6 camera which strongly suggest the images are "own work." It is true that Kurman Communications says on their flickr profile that "Photos are available for purchase at www.kurmanphotography.com" but it is not our problem that they license maybe half of their 25,500+ images as cc by 2.0 generic on their own flickr account. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:51, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- The reason stated is "Flickrwashed image https://www.flickr.com/photos/62558987@N07/32493693153". To me it seems like kurmanphotos and luxebloom worked together. So I see no reasons why kurmanphotos can't be trusted. Even if the 21 photos in https://www.flickr.com/photos/kurmanphotos/albums/72157677737319253/ are licensed wrong then it is only a small part of the 25,500 photos. --MGA73 (talk) 10:27, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

Removal of chinnian
[edit]{{Edit request}} I request the removal of: {{qfichinnian|chinnian}}
Comment: Was there a good reason why Chinnian was placed on the blacklist? I see their photos on the blacklist and they were all taken by an Apple iPhone 5 or 13 camera. This person is based in Singapore and it does appear to be own work. Examples of this account's images with camera metadata is File:J, Shinya and Inoran Singapore 2013.jpg, File:J, Ryuichi and Shinya 2013 05.jpg, File:LUNA SEA Singapore 2013 06.jpg, File:LUNA SEA Singapore 2013 26.jpg and File:Shinya in Singapore 2013 02.jpg Consistent camera. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 21:32, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- I see no reason provided why chinnian is blacklisted. My guess is that user also take photos of paintings, drawings and that these derivative works is perhaps the reason. --MGA73 (talk) 09:35, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

Removal of Martin Lewison
[edit]{{Edit request}} I request the removal of: {{qfimilst1|milst1}}
Comment: Was there a good reason why Martin Lewison PRO Flickr account was placed on the blacklist? I just checked on WikiCommons and there are 2082 images here from this flickr account already. Martin Lewison has 110,000+ images and the photos appear to have been taken by either an Apple i-Phone camera or a Sony DSC-HX9V camera. It appears to be own work. I agree that the photographer does take photos of derivative images such as X or Y or Z...where Z is located in Italy and due to Italian COM:FOP laws, the Z image cannot be hosted on WikiCommons. But, it is not as if the flickr account owner is stealing images. One just have to use judgment to upload or delete images from this flickr account--rather than add it to a blacklist--if there are FOP or derivative issues. After all why are there already 2082 images from this account on Commons. The flickr account owner has Five pages of image albums....and maybe the only images that are not safe to upload are from This AI photos Album Otherwise, we should perhaps not block it. The person who did block Martin's account must have had a reason....but it was likely not for stealing images, I think. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:54, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
Comment The only reason I can find is "Large number of problematic images (Google maps, derived works)". But it is the responsibility of the person who move the files to Commons to not move derivative works to Commons unless it is PD-old works or FOP apply. We should not blacklist users for derivative works. --MGA73 (talk) 14:14, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
