What is it?
[edit]Flickr2GWToolset is a simple web application for editing metadata of Flickr images before uploading them to Wikimedia Commons via GWToolset. The focus is in the quality of metadata of uploads.
Some notes
[edit]- You need a Flickr API key in order to use this tool!
- Flickr2GWToolset does not save or edit anything. It just outpus a XML file to a textarea.
- You need permissions to use GWToolset in order to actually make the uploads. The instruction for that can be find here. Note that you don't need to ask fro whitelist, since Flickr is already on that list.
- Currently you can only fetch data from Flickr albums.
- It uses a Photograph template for Commons uploads.
- It can be run locally (just download source and open it in a browser)

Usage
[edit]You can use the demo version found here or you can download it from Github.
- Remember, you need a Flickr API key in order to use Flickr2GWToolset.
- Find the album from Flickr that you would like to work on.
- Copy the album id (the number sequence at the end of the URL) to Flickr2GWToolset's album number field.
- Set "How many images to fetch?" so that all images of the album are fetched.
- Click "Fetch from Flickr"
- Edit
- Click "Convert to GWtoolset" and copy the XML to your preferred text editor and save.
- Feed the XML to GWToolset
